There’s nothing like being at the Curlin Florida Derby! A true spectacle on and off the track, the Curlin Florida Derby is the place to see and be seen for the fans and the horse racing community. Rub elbows with celebrities, television and film personalities as well as the industry’s top horse owners, trainers and jockeys in a week-long celebration.
The biggest race day of the year in South Florida, the Curlin Florida Derby is a showcase of the world’s best horses and jockeys, who all are competing for the coveted title of Florida Derby Winner on their road to the Triple Crown.
We pulled out all of the stops for the Florida Derby Weekend at Gulfstream Park last year. The Florida Derby is one of the biggest races leading up to the Kentucky Derby, which draws celebrities and of course Derby contenders to South Florida! The day included a premium lunch buffet and non-alcoholic drinks as well as access to a private bar within the South Beach Pavilion.
Between races, we featured special programming including building a pick-five ticket, horse racing trivia, trips into the paddock and raffles to win MyRacehorse swag and other prizes. There will be lounge style seating, high tops and tables for owners to enjoy the race day as well as opportunities for photo ops located all throughout the lounge.
We rounded out the weekend with a trip to Palm Meadows Training Center to enjoy a morning of training and a behind the scenes look at the backside of the facility. Palm Meadows is a private satellite training center for Gulfstream Park where many top tier trainers stable for the winter. We were able to check in with MyRacehorse trainers and see all MyRacehorse stable members that were stabled there. The morning also included coffee and continental breakfast snacks.
