Fountain of Youth

One of the premier Kentucky Derby preps each year is the $400,000 Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream Park. The 1 1/16-mile race for three-year-old Thoroughbreds has a rich history of producing elite contenders on the Road to the Kentucky Derby, including last year’s winner, Sovereignty, who ultimately went on to capture victory in the Kentucky Derby.

Inaugurated in 1945, the Fountain of Youth has long attracted the top sophomores in Florida and serves as a key stepping-stone on the Triple Crown trail. The series begins with the Holy Bull Stakes in January and culminates with the $1 million Florida Derby, run in late March or early April. The Fountain of Youth undercard is one of the strongest of the winter season, featuring eight additional stakes races, including the Grade 2 Davona Dale Stakes and the $200,000 Gulfstream Park Mile. This year, all eyes will be on Ted Noffey as he takes the stage on his own Road to the Kentucky Derby.

On Saturday, February 28, experience Fountain of Youth Stakes Day from Ten Palms, one of Gulfstream Park’s most sought-after dining and hospitality venues. Located directly on the finish line, Ten Palms offers panoramic views of the racetrack, winner’s circle, and walking ring, placing you at the center of the action throughout the day. Owners will enjoy a reserved seat at a MyRacehorse-exclusive table, a gourmet lunch buffet, and all non-alcoholic beverages, creating a comfortable and upscale setting to take in world-class racing from start to finish.

The weekend continues on Sunday, March 1, with a special trackside tram tour of the backside. Owners will gather on the track apron to watch morning training before visiting MyRacehorse horses stabled at Gulfstream Park, subject to availability. One horse currently on the grounds and expected to be accessible is Munny Problem. Coffee and donuts will be provided as we take in the sights and sounds of the morning routine and get an inside look at life on the backside.

The ticket price for this experience is $275 per person and is non-refundable. Seating is limited, as this is a more intimate owner experience.
